RENT A BOAT IN URK
The pearl of Flevoland Urk was once an island that was extensively flooded when there were storms. Thanks to this, the buildings are rather peculiar. At the time, buildings were constructed on every available piece of land in Urk that was a little higherand. The result was a chaotic whole with a maze of alleys. The village centre of this former Zuiderzee town is picturesque. Perfect for a walking tour! In the old town hall you can learn more about the history of Urk. The museum in the old town hall houses an extensive collection of traditional costumea.
Port
You can also rent a sailing boat in Urk. Urk is a fishing town and the port of Urk is home to smaller IJsselmeer cutters. In the summer months it is pleasantly busy here. You can see the IJsselmeer fleet sailing out or returning to port with their catch or take a look at the fish auction. During the fishing days on the Ascension weekend, there is plenty to see, eat and experience in the harbour.
